Six sets of questions based on various texts
Includes works from required reading list and outside texts
Features literary criticism and thematic comparisons
Section 2: Free Response
Short Answer Questions (15 minutes each):

Text and Art Comparison: Compare themes across text and artwork
Essay Questions (35 minutes each):
Analysis of Single Text: Examine genre and historical context
Text Comparison: Compare literary devices in two texts
The AP Spanish Literature and Culture exam uses a weighted scoring system. The multiple-choice sections account for 50% of your score (10% for Section 1A and 40% for Section 1B), and the free-response section makes up the other 50%.
Your raw scores from each section are converted into a composite score, which is then converted to the final AP score of 1-5. The distribution of scores from the most recent exam was:

A score of 3 or higher is generally considered passing, though many top colleges only award credit for scores of 4 or 5. For college admissions purposes, a 4 or 5 is considered a strong score.

Strong analytical and comparative skills
Ability to analyze literary devices and themes
