SHSAT: Grade 9 extension practice
Prepare the mathematics appropriate to the first-time ninth-grade route.
Updated October 3, 2026
A method you can use
- Add standards through grade 8 to the common grade-8 foundation. The official grade-9 mini forms supplement the full practice forms.
- For a linear model, distinguish the fixed amount from the rate. Two observations can determine both; proportional reasoning alone fails when the intercept is nonzero.
- For systems, a proposed ordered pair must satisfy both equations. For transformations, follow the specified order because a reflection and translation generally do not commute.
- For Pythagorean or irrational-number work, compare exact squares before estimating roots. This grade tag is a preparation filter, not an official score scale or separate calibrated form.
