Families applying to independent, Catholic or New York City specialized high schools often face more than one admissions test in the same fall. This calendar puts every date and testing window in one place so you can register on time and keep tests from landing in the same week. All dates were checked against each test's official site on October 20, 2026.
The paper SSAT is given on six Saturdays between October and March, at 9 a.m. local time. The November and December dates include the Elementary Level; the others are Upper and Middle Level only. A late fee starts three weeks before each date and a rush fee two weeks before, and registration closes the Wednesday before the test. The SSAT At Home runs Tuesday to Saturday in select weeks, and Middle and Upper Level students can also test at a Prometric center on most days.
For fees, score release and how to choose a format, see our SSAT Test Dates 2026–2027 guide.
The ISEE has no national dates. You pick a date at a school, a Prometric center, a testing office or at home, inside one of three seasons: Fall (August 1–November 30), Winter (December 1–March 31) and Spring/Summer (April 1–July 31). You can take the ISEE once per season, so up to three times a year. Paper tests need at least 21 days' notice; online tests can be booked 3 days ahead.
See our ISEE Test Dates 2026–2027 guide for registration deadlines and fees by format.
New York City's Specialized High Schools Admissions Test for September 2027 admission is given in November 2026. Eighth graders at public middle schools that end at grade 8 test on a school day (November 18). Other eighth graders, including those at private, parochial and charter schools, test on the weekend of November 14–15, and ninth graders test on November 21. Registration is in MySchools from October 6 to October 30, 2026.

The TACHS, for Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of New York and the Dioceses of Brooklyn/Queens and Rockville Centre, is taken remotely on one date per diocese: Friday, November 6, 2026 for the Archdiocese of New York and Saturday, November 7 for Brooklyn/Queens and Rockville Centre. Registration closes October 28 at 11 p.m. ET, and results come out January 22, 2027.

The HSPT has no national test date. Each Catholic high school or diocese picks its own, usually between October and January, so it isn't on this calendar. Check the schools you're applying to, or see our HSPT test dates guide for how dates are set.
Use the exam buttons above the calendar to focus on one test or see them all at once. Testing seasons and SSAT At Home weeks are listed above the grid for the month you're viewing, and the list view shows every window and date with its registration deadline.
