GMAT Focus Edition FAQ
What is the GMAT Focus Edition?+
The Focus Edition is the current GMAT, launched in late 2023. It has three equally-weighted sections — Quantitative, Verbal, and Data Insights — each scored 60–90, combining into a 205–805 total. It dropped the essay and Sentence Correction, added the Data Insights section, and lets you bookmark questions and edit up to three answers per section.
How is the 205–805 score calculated?+
Your three section scores (each 60–90) are combined and scaled into the 205–805 total. Because the sections are weighted equally, Data Insights moves your total exactly as much as Quant or Verbal — which is why we drill all three, not just the math.
What counts as a good GMAT Focus score?+
Because the Focus Edition rescaled everything, the old numbers don't map one-to-one. A 645 is roughly the 75th percentile, and top MBA programs cluster in the 685–715 range. Our score calculator and percentile guide show exactly where any total lands.
How many practice tests do I get?+
Ten full-length, question-adaptive Focus Edition exams, plus unlimited continuous practice by topic and daily questions of the day. Every question comes with a full worked explanation.
