TOEFL Score Calculators

ETS moved the TOEFL iBT to a 1.0-6.0 band scale on January 21, 2026. These tools work on the new scale: calculate your overall band from your four section bands, and convert scores on the retired 0-120 scale to their official band equivalents.

How TOEFL Score Calculators Work

Each of the four TOEFL sections — Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing — receives its own band from 1.0 to 6.0 in half-band steps. Your overall score is the average of those four bands, rounded to the nearest half band. That is a real calculation, not an estimate, which is why the calculator can give you an exact answer.

The converter exists because ETS retired the 0-120 scale in January 2026 and nearly every published university requirement is still written in the old numbers. It uses the official ETS concordance, which maps each band to a range on the old scale separately for each section — so the same old score can land on different bands depending on which section it came from.
