The MCAT reports four section scores — Chemical and Physical Foundations, Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills, Biological and Biochemical Foundations, and Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations. Each section is scored from 118 to 132, and the four add together into a total from 472 to 528, with the scale centred so that 500 sits near the middle of all test takers.
Because every section is weighted equally, a calculator is the fastest way to see what a change in one section does to your total — and what percentile that new total reaches. Percentile ranks come from AAMC and are restated each year, so treat them as a close guide rather than an exact cut-off.
