UCF lists official SAT, ACT or CLT scores among the items every freshman must submit, reported directly to the university by the testing agency. SAT and ACT scores count if they were taken within the last five years, and CLT scores count if taken on or after July 1, 2023. UCF superscores both the SAT and the ACT, using your highest section scores from every test it receives. The ACT Science section has been optional since April 2025, and UCF no longer requires it: if all your ACT tests were taken before April 2025, UCF uses all four sections for your superscore, but if any test was taken in April 2025 or later, it uses English, Math and Reading only. UCF does not require the SAT Essay or ACT Writing.

What to aim for

You need an SAT, ACT or CLT score to apply to University of Central Florida for fall 2027, so plan your test dates around the Early Action materials deadline if you want priority scholarship consideration. A practical target is 1350 or higher on the SAT or 30 or higher on the ACT. Scores near 1280 or 28 put you in the middle of recent enrolled students, but the fall 2026 admitted profile runs higher.

In UCF's 2025–26 Common Data Set, the rigor of your high school record, your academic GPA and your test scores are all rated very important, and the application essay is important. UCF recalculates your GPA from academic core courses and adds weight for honors, AP, IB, AICE and dual enrollment classes. Class rank, activities, talent, character and residency are also considered, while recommendations are not. The essay is strongly encouraged but not required, and UCF notes that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
