University of Minnesota Twin Cities made the ACT and SAT optional in 2020, when tests were canceled during the pandemic. The Twin Cities campus now says freshman applicants through the fall 2029 term do not need a score, and it calls this a temporary policy while it studies the effect on students. On the Common App you answer whether you want a score considered. That answer is final once you submit, except when a planned test is canceled or you lose access to it. Applications with and without scores get full review for admission, scholarships, and the University Honors Program. University of Minnesota Twin Cities does not use ACT superscores, but you can self-report up to three ACT composite scores.
